This is the second time Activated Events has hosted an event in Tucson. Last April, it brought the Tucson Taco Fest at Rillito with a lineup of rappers and hip-hop artists and a handful of taco trucks, including one from Tucson.

Boots In the Park comes to Tucson's Rialto Park on Saturday. It was at Tempe Beach Park, shown here, over two days last September.
Boots In the Park was first held in Gilbert in 2022, four years after the brand launched in Norco, California. It returned to Gilbert the following year before moving in 2024 to Tempe for two festivals, one in May and the other in September.
"We decided we wanted to expand to Tucson so it's kind of been on our list," said Bonnie Marquez, Activated Events executive vice president of marketing, who said the company was impressed by Rillito Park after hosting the taco fest in April.
"The taco fest did really, really well, which basically has allowed us to really invest in future shows because we saw the need and the demand," she said. "We established ourselves as a reputable brand, and so we'll just be able to continue providing more shows and more music for the people of Tucson."
