A 24-year-old man was fatally shot in an argument Friday night on the city's south side, Tucson police say.
About 10:25 p.m., Arturo Gastelum was shot during an argument in the 4600 block of South Calle Jon, near East Irvington Road and East Benson Highway, Tucson police said in a news release.
While on the call about the shooting, officers were called to a single-car crash near South Campbell Avenue and East Irvington. There, a wounded Gastelum was found in the vehicle. He died at the crash scene, police said.
On Saturday, police arrested Jerome Middleton III, 21, on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting, the release said.
The investigation continues.
