With a shift in its business model to focus on vehicle service, four retail portions of local Pep Boys are for lease.
Pep Boys is shifting its focus to service and closing its three Tucson retail stores .
About 8,300 square feet are available for lease at 4725 W. Ina Road, 7227 E. 22nd St. and 3787 N. Oracle Road. At 1300 S. Sixth Ave., about 8,400 square feet are available for lease.
With competition from online retailers of auto parts, Pep Boys announced its shift to “something harder for digital competitors to match: hands-on repairs, face-to-face advice and local expertise,†according to industry observers.
“As part of our ongoing business transformation, we’re evaluating our footprint to make sure our stores are best aligned with customer needs and market opportunities and the recent property listings are part of that process,†a spokesperson for Pep Boys said via email.
