The latest forecast sees a 50-70% chance of rain Saturday through Monday in the Tucson area, with "the most likely scenario" predicting rainfall totals in the 1-2 inch range.
The main concern, the National Weather Service in Tucson says, is the "potential for long duration rainfall associated with deep tropical moisture" as the remnants of Tropical Storm Priscilla move into the state.

Water could flow in normally dry washes and low-water crossings, "and in the higher end rainfall total scenarios, we could see 3-6 foot rises on rivers, with the potential for some even topping bank full," the weather service says in its forecast Thursday afternoon.
However, there is still significant uncertainty about rain totals to expect, the forecast adds.
Current high-end scenarios predict widespread rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches or more in the Saturday through Monday period, while lower-end scenarios see less than an inch of rainfall.
