For the first time since the end of the 2023 season, the Arizona Wildcats are in the College Football Playoff rankings, which were updated Tuesday night on ESPN.Ìý
The Wildcats are No. 25 entering the Territorial Cup showdown and are ranked in the CFP rankings for the first time under second-year head coach Brent Brennan.Ìý
Arizona is the fifth-highest ranked Big 12 team behind No. 5 Texas Tech, No. 11 BYU, No. 13 Utah and No. 20 Arizona State, which moved up five spots from last week's CFP rankings.
Arizona (8-3) and ASU (8-3) are both ranked in a Territorial Cup matchup for the first time since 2014.
The Wildcats have won four straight games since suffering back-to-back one-possession losses to BYU and Houston, which is the program's longest winning streak since it won nine straight between the 2023 and ’24 seasons.Ìý

Gonzales nominated for Broyles Award
Arizona defensive coordinator Danny Gonzales is one of 63 nominees for the Broyles Award, which is given to the top assistant coach in college football.Ìý
Gonzales is one of nine coaches from the Big 12 nominated for the Broyles Award.Ìý
In Gonzales' first season as defense coordinator, Arizona is 21st in college football in total defense, sixth in turnovers gained, 14th in tackles for loss, second in team pass efficiency, 24th in scoring defense, sixth in passing yards allowed, sixth in interceptions and 18th in first downs allowed.

Arizona's 23 takeaways this season is tied for the sixth-most in college football this season. The 23 takeaways are 11 more than the team created last season — and the most since the Wildcats had 25 in 2017.ÌýÌý
Bounds, Robinson out for season
Arizona senior right tackle Tristan Bounds and freshman linebacker Myron Robinson have officially been ruled out for the season for leg injuries they suffered two weeks ago against Cincinnati.Ìý
Bounds and Robinson were not included in the first Territorial Cup availability report, which was revealed Tuesday night.
Bounds started eight games at right tackle this season and has allowed three sacks in 372 pass-blocking snaps. For the second straight game, redshirt freshman Matthew Lado will start at right tackle for Arizona.Ìý
Arizona cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew is set to miss his fifth straight game of the season. Left guard Jordan Brown has also been ruled out for the Wildcats.Ìý
Arizona cornerback Jay'Vion Cole, running back Quincy Craig and defensive tackle Tiaoalii Savea are listed as questionable for Friday's matchup with Arizona State. Savea missed the last two games for a leg injury he suffered against Kansas earlier this month. Cole and Craig missed last week's win over Baylor.ÌýÌý
