The Arizona Wildcats came ready to play after a Game 1 rout at the hands of UCLA, but still fell short of avoiding elimination and advancing to the Women's College World Series. After plating two early runs, the Wildcats fell 3-2 in Los Angeles. Arizona finished the season with a 43-16 record.
