The University of Arizona athletic department on Wednesday released a five-year strategic plan that it’s dubbing “The Bear Down Blueprint.”
The plan outlines values, priorities and goals for the department and focuses on four pillars: graduating leaders, winning championships, galvanizing the community and building a strong, sustainable organization.
“‘The Bear Down Blueprint’ sets a clear course for our department — one grounded in collaboration, built on accountability and centered on our student-athletes,” UA athletic director Desireé Reed-Francois said . “It’s a roadmap for not only how we lead, but how we serve the University of Arizona and the people of our great state.”

The plan was shaped by “extensive input from student-athletes, staff, coaches, faculty, alumni, donors and fans,” per the news release. accompanying the announcement features 20 speakers, including Reed-Francois; UA president Suresh Garimella; football coach Brent Brennan; men’s basketball coach Tommy Lloyd; women’s basketball coach Becky Burke; football quarterback Noah Fifita; gymnast Emma Strom; and donors Humberto Lopez and Ginny L. Clements.

The plan arrives in the wake of the House settlement, which will enable student-athletes to participate in revenue-sharing for the first time in the history of college sports. It includes some . Among them:
– Balancing the athletic department’s budget by June 2026.
– Securing NCAA postseason berths in at least 75% of team sports annually.
– Achieving an annual winning percentage of .600 or better across all team sports.
– Achieving a top-three finish in the Big 12 All-Sports Standings within five years.
– Winning at least five conference championships (regular season or tournament) across all sports within five years.

– Achieving a 5% annual increase in total attendance across all athletic events.
– Growing student attendance and ZonaZoo involvement by 10% annually across all ticketed sports.
– Ensuring that 85% of corporate partnerships have multi-year contracts.
– Increasing total partnership revenue by at least 15% year over year.
– Securing a minimum of 10 new partners annually.
– Hosting 90 community and alumni outreach events per year.
– Growing social-media followers by 5% annually.
– Driving over 65 million visitors to Arizona Athletics broadcasts and digital channels.
– Achieving $27 million in total fundraising revenue by June 2026.
– Increasing the donor base by 10% by June 2031.
– Achieving a 10% increase in the season-ticket-holder base and 25% growth in group sales by June 2031.

“This is a plan about clarity, purpose and discipline,” Reed-Francois said in the release. “We are building a model that can support the modern student-athlete while positioning Arizona to thrive competitively and financially. We are not just adapting — we are preparing to lead. This plan is not just aspirational — it’s actionable.
“We’ve established the framework, the benchmarks and the accountability to move with purpose. Our mission remains clear: To develop and graduate leaders, win championships and unite our community through the power of sport.
