Arizona women’s basketball coach Becky Burke has nabbed her first commitment for the class of 2026.
Priyanka Ponnam, a 6-foot-2 forward from Pennington, New Jersey, announced her commitment to the Wildcats this past weekend.

Arizona women’s basketball received a verbal commitment from Priyanka Ponnam, a 6-2 forward in the class of 2026 who shot 41.4% from 3-point range as a high school junior.
Ponnam currently attends Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey. She averaged 12.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game as a junior last season, shooting 48% from the floor and 41.4% from 3-point range, . The latter suggests the potential for Ponnam to be a “stretch four†at Arizona.
Burke offered Ponnam a scholarship earlier this month. She also held offers from Purdue and Wake Forest, according to her X account.
