Arizona running back Kedrick Reescano (3) cruises nearly untouched into the end zone, scoring against Baylor during the fourth quarter of their Big 12 game, Nov. 22, 2025, in Tucson.
Head to Head
3 Kedrick Reescano vs. 98 Jacob Rich Kongaika
Reescano has scored a touchdown in six of his eight appearances this season. Reescano has a career-high eight touchdowns — three from the Wildcats' most recent win over Baylor. Six of his eight touchdowns are inside the red zone. His other two touchdowns are a 36-yarder against BYU and a 50-yarder to cap the Wildcats' 99-yard drive in a win over No. 25 Cincinnati.Ìý
Kongaika played the first two seasons of his collegiate career in Tucson with the Wildcats before transferring to ASU following Arizona's run to the Alamo Bowl in 2023. Kongaika, who's been a mainstay in ASU's defense for two seasons, was the player who planted an ASU flag in the middle of the "Block A" at Casino Del Sol Stadium after last season's game in Tucson.Ìý
Arizona linebacker Taye Brown (6), center, draws a happy crowd as defensive linemen Mays Pese (99), left, and Julian Savaiinaea (41) celebrate his intercepting of Hawaii in the third quarter of the Wildcats’ season opener, Aug. 30, 2025, at Arizona Stadium.
6 Taye Brown vs.Ìý0 Jordyn Tyson
Brown has become one of the Wildcats' most productive defensive players this season. The Chandler native has the second-most tackles this season behind Dalton Johnson. Brown had 10 tackles and a forced fumble that contributed to the Wildcats' 27-point avalanche in the second half against Baylor. Since the Iowa State loss, Brown is averaging just under nine tackles per game.Ìý
Tyson has been nursing a hamstring injury and missed three games, but returned in limited fashion against Colorado last week. ASU's leading receiver had two catches for 61 yards in the Sun Devils' 42-17 win over Colorado. In ASU's 49-7 win over the Wildcats last season, Tyson had eight catches for 143 yards and a touchdown. Tyson is listed as probable on the most recent availability report.Ìý
The matchup
When Arizona has the ballÌý…Ìý
The last time Arizona played at ASU, UA quarterback Noah Fifita set the school record with 527 passing yards and led the Wildcats to their largest margin of victory in Tempe. Fifita's top target was Tetairoa McMillan, who had 266 receiving yards in that ’23 game. McMillan is now catching touchdown passes on Monday Night Football, but the new No. 4 at Arizona, Kris Hutson, has 17 catches for 256 yards and a touchdown in the last two games.Ìý
When ASU has the ballÌý…Ìý
A key factor in the Sun Devils' three-game winning streak has been their rushing attack, which ranks third in the Big 12. ASU has averaged 256 rushing yards over the last three games and had 355 rushing yards and three touchdowns in its most recent win over Colorado. Between running back Raleek Brown and the big-bodied dual-threat quarterback in Jeff Sims, ASU will likely test Arizona's ability to stop the run on Friday.Ìý
College Football 26 prediction: UA 17, ASU 13
If reality reflects our simulation of the Territorial Cup on College Football 26, Friday is going to be a defensive battle with an exciting finish.
On Arizona's final drive of the game, Hutson picked up a first down on fourth-and-9 with just under two minutes remaining. With 20 seconds remaining, Hutson hauled in a 43-yard touchdown pass over the middle from Fifita, who avoided pressure and stepped up in the pocket to launch the pass.
Despite two missed field goals from Arizona kicker Michael Salgado-Medina, including one that "doinked" off the left upright, the Wildcats had 476 yards of total offense and prevailed in Tempe.Ìý ÌýÌý
