Former Arizona State star wide receiver Elijhah Badger, one of the top offensive players in the transfer portal, committed to the Florida Gators over Arizona and Washington on Friday.
The 6-1, 185-pound Badger had 135 catches for 1,579 yards and 10 touchdowns the last two seasons with the Sun Devils. Badger had eight receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown in ASU’s loss to Arizona for the Territorial Cup in 2022; Badger didn’t play in the rivalry game this past season.
Badger, a Sacramento native and former four-star recruit, was recruited by Arizona head coach Brent Brennan and his staff at San Jose State in 2020, before he signed with the Sun Devils. One of Badgers’ coaches at ASU was current Arizona wide receivers coach Bobby Wade.
After losing slot receiver Kevin Green Jr. to Washington, the Wildcats added former Old Dominion wide receiver and Bay Area native Reymello Murphy, who was 27th in FBS in yards per catch last season. Arizona’s receiver room currently includes potential first-round pick and sure-fire preseason Biletnikoff Award hopeful Tetairoa McMillan, veteran Montana Lemonious-Craig, Murphy and budding talent in Malachi Riley, Devin Hyatt, Chris Hunter and Brandon Phelps, among others.
