In addition to nearly losing its entire pitching rotation, Arizona will also have to replace its top two outfielders after Dakota Kennedy and Kaiah Altmeyer reportedly entered the transfer portal.
Kennedy and Altmeyer, both going into their senior seasons, entered the transfer portal this week, according to .
Kennedy, a Gold Glove Award winner and All-American left fielder, led the Wildcats in hitting with a .444 batting average despite missing nearly a month due to a finger injury. Kennedy played in 151 games and made 147 starts during her three-year career at Arizona.

In 445 career at-bats, Kennedy had 177 hits, 92 RBIs and 27 home runs, along with a .398 batting average and .665 slugging percentage. She had a .996 fielding percentage — 100% the last two seasons. Kennedy was a unanimous All-Big 12 selection this season.

Altmeyer, a San Diego native who was in the same recruiting class as Kennedy, played in 136 games in three seasons and had 114 hits, 10 home runs, 91 RBIs and a .355 batting average in her career. Altmeyer had the second-most hits (66) and third-most RBIs (55) for the Wildcats this season and became a second-team All-Big 12 choice.

With the departures of Altmeyer and Kennedy, the Wildcats have now lost 10 players to the transfer portal since they ended the season with a loss to Ole Miss in the NCAA Regionals at Rita Hillenbrand Stadium. Five of those 10 players are pitchers, including Aissa Silva, who led college softball in appearances in 2024.
Arizona recently added Indiana transfer pitcher Jenae Berry, who is the younger sister of former Arizona baseball player Jacob Berry, in the transfer portal.
The Wildcats have a nucleus of standout catcher Sydney Stewart, center fielder Regan Shockey, third baseman Jenna Sniffen and shortstop Tayler Biehl, but return just eight of the 22 players from this past season.
