Arizona lost another pitcher and two position players to the transfer portal Thursday.
Left-hander Ryan Maddox became the fourth UA pitcher to enter the portal when she announced her departure . She joins Aissa Silva, Brooke Mannon and Sydney Somerndike.

Maddox was a highly rated recruit in the class of 2023 who missed her freshman season because of injury. She appeared in 20 games as a redshirt freshman, posting a 4.49 ERA in 43â…” innings.

Maddox’s departure leaves Arizona with only one returning pitcher on its roster — rising sophomore Sarah Wright, who threw just 4 1/3 innings this past season. The Wildcats have one pitcher in their ’24 signing class, Rylie Holder. They will have to utilize the portal to fill out their staff.
Schepp started most of her freshman year at catcher before ceding those duties to transfer Sydney Stewart this past season. Schepp mostly served as a designated player this year, batting .244 with five home runs and 16 RBIs in 78 at-bats. She hit .294 as a freshman.
Arizona is expected to return Stewart, an All-Big 12 performer, and Emma Kavanagh at catcher. Kavanagh hit .235 with one homer and eight RBIs in 34 at-bats as a true freshman.
Tagalog was used almost exclusively as a pinch-runner during her two seasons at Arizona. She scored a career-high 15 runs in 2025.
