Casa Vicente opened downtown in 2005. It's getting a reboot ...Ìý

No sangria for you! At least, not at Ìýanytime soon ...ÌýDowntown Tucson's Spanish restaurant has closed for "extensive renovations" to its address atÌý375 S. Stone Ave. Its last day of business was this Saturday, May 20.Ìý

The 1930's-era building needs major structural work on the roofing, air conditioning and more, says co-ownerÌýMarita Gomez. The building is divided into two parts, and the restaurant will eventually move into the back half that's currently being used for wine storage.

Gomez said that when it opens in four to six months, the new restaurant will still have the lively energy of the original space. Patrons will still be able to enter through the parking lot, and choose from a staggering menu of tapas and traditional Spanish dishes.Ìý

The restaurant, which opened in 2005, is known for its tapas, local art selection and lively flamenco shows. There's nothing quite like Casa Vicente in town, but if you're really hankering for some summer sangria, here are three options ...
