High school football semifinals start in Arizona this week for 1A, as 2A moves on to the second round. Meanwhile on Saturday, the 5A, 4A and 3A state tournament brackets were revealed.
Cienega linebacker Davion Ross had 16 tackles, three tackles for loss, a blocked field goal and a pass deflection in the Bobcats' final home game of the season.Â
After winning the 4A Kino region title last Friday, Mica Mountain will face Phoenix's Sierra Linda or Lake Havasu in the second round of the state championship on Nov. 14.
Going into the regular-season finale, Sabino was on the bubble for the 3A state tournament. But after snapping their losing streak, the Sabercats will return to the state playoffs.
