A face created by artificial intelligence from a police sketch might be the key to identifying a man whose body was found in the desert near Tucson late last year.
A hyper-realistic image created by artificial intelligence depicting what they believe the man once looked like has been released by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department to help put a name to the face.
A passerby found the body near the on Dec. 28, 2024, a department news release said. He was partially decomposed and nude. The trailhead is on the west end of Tucson Mountain Park.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death remain under investigation by the department’s homicide unit — having the victim’s name is a critical piece of this puzzle.

The National Missing and Unidentified Person System (NamUS), a government website, notes that the man was about 6 feet tall and weighed 133 pounds. He hand sandy brown, wavy hair. NamUs said the man had a gray mustache and stubble, as well as several dental fillings.
Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call 911 or Detective Carranco with the department’s homicide unit at 520-351-3603.
