The first player Tommy Lloyd landed as Arizona's men's basketball coach will have a chance to return to McKale Center to face him next season.
Former UA center Dylan Anderson posted that he's transferring to NAU for the 2026-27 season, meaning he'll be scheduled to play for the Lumberjacks in a Nov. 10 game at McKale Center.
"Committed to the climb," Anderson posted, receiving congratulatory responses from former teammates KJ Lewis, Will Menaugh and Luke Champion.
A four-star prospect out of Gilbert Perry who was twice named Arizona's Gatorade Player of the Year — and received a UA scholarship from Sean Miller as an eighth-grader — Anderson committed to Arizona in April 2021.

But Anderson's career never took off at Arizona. He played sparingly as a freshman in 2022-23 before redshirting intentionally in 2023-24. Anderson then transferred to Boise State for the 2024-25 season, starting 11 of 24 games, and moved on to Murray State in 2025-26.

Anderson started the first two games of 2025-26 for the Racers, but wound up playing a limited role, averaging 1.5 points and 1.7 rebounds. He entered the transfer portal again this spring before opting to return to his home state.
