The Hall of Fame formally announced Thursday the UA-SDSU game will be part of a Phoenix doubleheader that also includes a Colorado-Stanford game at PHX Arena. Ticket information and tipoff times remain to be announced.

The Wildcats aren’t playing in a top multi-team event next season but instead have cobbled together a nonconference schedule that includes six high-level games, including Hall of Fame series games against SDSU, Florida and UCLA.

Arizona will open its 2025-26 season against Florida in Las Vegas on Nov. 3 and face UCLA on Nov. 14 in Las Vegas. On its nonconference schedule, the Wildcats will also face UConn, Auburn and Alabama.

Playing the six higher-level opponents will help ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV offset the fact that it won’t be competing in a top multi-team event next season and that it will lose two potentially competitive Big 12 games from the conference’s move from 20 to 18 games.

Arizona and SDSU used to hold occasional two-year, home-and-home series during the Lute Olson and Sean Miller eras but have only met once in the past 11 seasons, and only by chance: The Wildcats beat the Aztecs 87-70 in the semifinals of the 2022 Maui Invitational. Arizona leads the all-time series 25-7.

The Dec. 20 game “is another opportunity for us to play against a great program in a tremendous atmosphere that our program and fans enjoy,� UA coach Tommy Lloyd said in a statement. “Reaching our fans in Phoenix is a priority for us and games like this provide a great avenue to do that.�
