The Baltimore Ravens drafted former Arizona kicker Tyler Loop at No. 186 overall in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
Loop is the first Arizona kicker drafted since Nick Folk in 2007.Â
Loop was the second kicker drafted this year after Miami's Andres Borregales, who was selected by the New England Patriots at No. 182 overall in the sixth round.
After he was drafted, he met with Ravens coaches and scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine and "got to chat a bunch" with special teams coach Randy Brown. Loop had a hunch the Ravens would draft him after Borregales was drafted by the Patriots.
"'Alright, here we go, I'm going to be a Baltimore Raven and be with Randy and (head coach John Harbaugh) and be a Raven,'" Loop said. "I'm pumped."

In five years at Arizona, the Lucas, Texas native recorded an 83.8% field-goal rate, which currently ranks 39th in college football history; it’s also the best mark in Arizona history. Loop’s 327 points are third in school history behind Max Zendejas (360) and Art Luppino (337).
Loop was 6 for 9 in field goals of at least 50 yards in 2024, which included a program-record 62-yard field goal. Loop owns the UA single-game school record with five field goals against Texas Tech. In his last two seasons at Arizona, Loop had 126 touchbacks in 140 attempts (90%).
He also experienced three different head coaches between Kevin Sumlin, Jedd Fisch and Brent Brennan — and three different special teams coordinators. Arizona defensive coordinator Danny Gonzales, who was the Wildcats' special teams coordinator last season, said Loop has "the most powerful leg I've ever been around" and he "has the ability to punt, kick, (kick) field goals."
"He's a phenomenal young man," Gonzales said after Arizona's spring showcase last week. "Faith is the number one thing in his life, which is outstanding. He lives it every single day. He was good for this football and he'll be a great representation for this university, and he's going to make someone's football team better. He hit a 62-yard field goal here and we were willing to let him go back to 70 (yards) if we had the opportunity, because he would routinely hit them in practice. It sounds silly, but he would routinely hit them in practice."

Arizona kicker Tyler Loop (05) celebrates after kicking a field goal at the NFL scouting combine, Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, in Indianapolis.
Loop was among the top kickers at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. In the kicking competition, Loop made 13 of 14 field goals (93.3%) and tied Florida State’s Ryan Fitzgerald for the second-best field-goal rate; both made 60-yard field goals to end the competition. Lenny Krieg from Germany made all 14 of his attempts.
The Ravens drafted Loop after five-time All-Pro kicker Justin Tucker was recently accused of sexual misconduct by 16 massage therapists. While Tucker has publicly denied the allegations and called the accusations   the NFL is currently investigating the situation and the Ravens have yet to make a decision regarding Tucker's future.Â
The addition of Loop is a sign that Baltimore is prepared to move on from Tucker. Â
