Veteran Tucson broadcast journalist Bill Buckmaster is hanging up his microphone after 37 years of daily television and radio shows.
The show has aired for 15 years on KVOI, 1030 AM. Before that, Buckmaster hosted Arizona Illustrated on KUAT Channel 6, Tucson’s public television station, for 22 years.
“After nearly sixty years of daily deadlines, it’s time to kick back a bit and smell the creosote,” Buckmaster said in an announcement.
Over the decades, Buckmaster’s shows have featured regular interviews with Tucson officeholders and newsmakers, from Tucson mayors and Pima County supervisors to members of Congress and military officials.
