A 27-year-old man was killed early Friday after Tucson police say he stepped in front of a vehicle on the southeast side.
About 4:24 a.m., Joshua Brown was struck when he stepped from a median onto East Valencia Road, near South Country Club Road, Tucson police said in a news release.
The driver, an unidentified 36-year-old man, told police that he was traveling east at the 50 mph speed limit at the time of the crash, the release said.
Police said there were no crosswalks in the area.Â
Brown, who police said lived in the desert near the crash, died at the scene. The driver was not injured.
No citations have been filed and the investigation continues.
