A 45-year-old man was shot dead and another was wounded early Sunday at a bar on Tucson's west side, police said.
Fred Sanchez, 45, was shot about 1 a.m. during a confrontation at the Hideout, a bar in the 3000 block of South Mission Road, north of West Ajo Way, Tucson police said in a news release. Sanchez died at the hospital.
Meanwhile, an unidentified 23-year-old man arrived at another hospital with a gunshot wound. Police say he was likely wounded in the same bar fight.
The wounded man remains in the hospital, the release said.
Several witnesses fled the bar before officers arrived. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME, the anonymous tip line.
The shooting still is being investigated.
