Tucson police have made an arrest in the killing of a man last month on the city's south side.
Jose Enrique Cureses, 35, was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder. He is being held on $1 million bond, police said Wednesday in a news release.
About 9:15 p.m. Aug. 22, Emmanuel Loya, was shot in the 5200 block of South Champion Stravenue, near South Sixth Avenue and West of Irvington Road, police say.
Loya, 35, died after being dropped off at St. Mary's Hospital, police previously said.
