UA men’s basketball made a profit of $7.2 million in 2024-25, according to an annual report the school filed with the Arizona Board of Regents this week.
In the report, which was posted to accompany discussion held Thursday at the Regents’ meeting in Flagstaff, UA said men’s basketball earned $29.8 million while costing $22.6 million in expenses.
UA also posted that football earned $52.8 million in revenue against $39.9 million in expenses for a net profit of $12.9 million. In addition, UA reported that in coach Adia Barnes' final season, UA women’s basketball lost $3.9 million — taking in $4.0 million in revenue against $7.9 million in expenses.

The numbers are different than the report UA filed with the U.S. Department of Education for its Equity in Athletics Analysis. In that report, UA reported roughly the same amount of revenue and expense for football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball: $22.6 million for men’s basketball, $8.0 million for women’s basketball and $37.8 million for football.

According to a UA statement, the EADA report "focuses on participation and gender-equity reporting and uses different definitions and allocation methodologies," resulting in some revenues and expenses being classified differently between the two reports.
