Colts Trade Two Draft Picks, Mitchell For Jets CB Gardner...
The Indianapolis Colts have acquired cornerback Sauce Gardner from the New York Jets in exchange for two first-round picks. The Jets, who also get wideout Adonai Mitchell in the deal, received first-round picks for 2026 and 2027 in the trade. According to ESPN, Gardner was stunned by the news, with his agent and brother, Allante Gardner, telling that outlet that the player is in “great spirits.” The trade comes just months after Gardner inked a four-year, $120.4 million contract extension with the Jets, who drafted him with the fourth pick in 2022. Gardner was named the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year that same year when he recorded a league-high 20 passes defended. The 25-year-old is also the first cornerback since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970 to receive First-Team All-Pro nods in each of his first two seasons in the league.
