I’m a sucker for Cinderella stories and there is currently no Cinderella-in-Tucson sports story more compelling than the oft-low-level football teams at Desert View and Flowing Wells high schools.
Both schools, rivals in the 5A Southern league, are 6-0 and have done so by commanding margins. Coach Robert Bonillas’ Jaguars have outscored opponents 247-77. Coach Brian Hook’s Caballeros have dominated opponents by an aggregate score of 294-45.

Here’s the best part: Looking at their schedules, the Cabs and Jags both project to be 9-0 entering that Game of the Year showdown on Halloween night at Desert View.
