Seen and heard from the 99th edition of the Territorial Cup showdown between the Arizona Wildcats and Arizona State Sun Devils at Mountain America Stadium.
TEMPE — Former ASU running back and New York Giants rookie Cameron Skattebo was the honorary captain for the Territorial Cup on Friday.
Former Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo mugs for the cameras during a time-out promo in the Sun Devils’s game against Arizona, Nov. 28, 2025, in Tempe.
Skattebo played two seasons at ASU, including the Sun Devils' Big 12 championship and College Football Playoff team last season, before he became a fourth-round pick by the Giants.Ìý
In ASU's 49-7 win over the Wildcats in Tucson last season, he had 21 carries for 177 yards and three touchdowns.ÌýÌý
Skattebo rushed for 410 yards and five touchdowns in his rookie season prior to suffering a season-ending foot injury last month.
Additionally, representatives from the Holiday Bowl were in attendance for the Territorial Cup. Considering Arizona's current-standing ties to the Pac-12, the Wildcats could play in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego.Ìý

Trying the 'Tijuana Torpedo' in Tempe
This college football season, Arizona football beat reporter Justin Spears is trying out popular restaurants in towns the Wildcats are playing in. Up next: The Chuckbox in Tempe.Ìý
Less than a half-mile from Mountain America Stadium in Tempe sits one of the most renowned burger joints in the Valley.Ìý
Restaurant:ÌýThe Chuckbox
Food:ÌýBurgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, fried foods
The rundown:ÌýThe Chuckbox has been serving Arizona State students and fans since 1972.ÌýÌýcooks its burgers and chicken over an open Mesquite fire, and the cheese options include American, Swiss, jalapeño jack and cheddar.Ìý
When the line stretches around the toppings bar and across the restaurant, customers can be heard shouting their orders to the cooks who are churning out order after order.
In addition to fries and beer-battered onion rings, The Chuckbox also has jalapeño poppers, fried zucchini and fried mushrooms.ÌýÌý
The Chuckbox is a cash-only establishment, so come ready with some dollar bills. If not, there's an ATM available.
The Tijuana Torpedo with onion rings and a draft root beer from The Chuckbox in Tempe.
The order:ÌýTijuana Torpedo with onion rings and a draft root beer. The beef patty has jalapeño jack cheese cooked inside and is served with green chili on a sesame seed bun.Ìý
The final verdict:ÌýThis is the second "This Ain't Tucson" review in Tempe — the first wasÌýBurrito Express in 2023.Ìý
The Chuckbox is also the second burger review of the season, joiningÌýHouston's "Trill Burgers."ÌýThe Chuckbox is known for "The Great Big One," but we went with one of its other unique options.ÌýÌý
The Tijuana Torpedo was a rich man's version of the green chili burger from Whataburger or New Mexico staple Blake's Lotaburger. The bun wasn't as buttery and greasy as Trill Burgers, which isn't a knock. The sign of a great burger is if it can be devoured without the help of ketchup and other condiments. I added chopped jalapeños for an extra kick.Ìý
The onion rings with ranch and draft root beer were perfect complements for a rock-solid burger. The jam-packed small parking lot wasn't ideal for a pregame meal, but there's a reason ASU fans endure the parking conditions and wait time. The Chuckbox is aÌý7/10.
Still no pity
The billboard no longer exists. But the messaging endures.
“No Pity for the Kitty†first appeared on a billboard along I-10 after ASU embarrassed Arizona 70-7 in the 2020 Territorial Cup.
After the Wildcats struck back with wins in 2022 and ’23, the billboard came down.
That didn’t stop a young boy from holding up an orange sign bearing that message as he and hundreds of others lined up along the roundabout between Mountain America Stadium and Desert Financial Arena about three hours before Saturday's game. Another fan sported a maroon-and-gold “No Pity for the Kitty†T-shirt.
He said it
Arizona wide receiver Tre Spivey makes a catch in the corner of the end zone, working with the quarterbacks as the Wildcats get ready to face Arizona State in the Territorial Cup, Nov. 28, 2025, in Tempe.
"They attack everything like they're professionals, from recovery, preparation and leadership and they're damn good players. ... They played in a lopsided game that was in our favor and they played in a lopsided game that was in (ASU's) favor, so they've been mission-focused to have a positive outcome Friday night." — Arizona defensive coordinator Danny Gonzales, on defensive backs Treydan Stukes, Dalton Johnson and Genesis Smith, who played in the last three Territorial CupsÌý
