A man with a history of DUI arrests has been arrested in connection with Monday night's hit-and-run pedestrian crash, officials say.
Christopher J. Lopez, 37, faces charges including aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of a collision with serious injury, according to Tucson police spokesman Sgt. Pete Dugan.Â
The pedestrian was hit as he was crossing East Broadway near North Campbell Avenue, Dugan said. Police believe he was in a crosswalk at the time of the incident.Â
The pedestrian is currently in the hospital with life-threatening injuries, said Dugan.
Lopez was booked into the Pima County jail on a $21,000 bond.
According to court documents, Lopez has a history of DUI arrests and failure to appear in court.
