A Thunderstorm stretched over Tucson Wednesday fulfilling days of promised storms.
Tucson International Airport — the official site for the city’s weather record keeping — had received 0.34 inches of rain as of 3 p.m., the weather service said.
Rain chances are expected to drop by Friday’s Independence Day celebrations, forecasters have said.
Meanwhile, there’s still time to take advantage of free self-serve sandbag sites in Tucson and Pima County.
The city has a sandbag site in the east parking lot of Reid Park’s Hi Corbett Field, 700 S. Randolph Way.

Pima County also has free sandbag locations. Among the county sites are: North Pima Canyon Drive and East Ina Road; 1313 S. Mission Road (Pima County Mission Yard); Picture Rocks Fire District,6625 N. Sandario Rd; and in the 2900 block of North Shannon Road at West Positano Way.
