For over a decade the solar panels on Davis Monthan property south of Golf Links Rd have provided cheap electric power to the base and used the vast amount of sunlight available for free.
Today I drove by and found all those acres of solar panels were being destroyed and taken to dumpsters to be trashed.
Millions of dollars worth of US government property at DM are being destroyed not because the panels were obsolete. Instead the Trump administration is taking them out for ideological and corporate donation reasons. And think of this happening at the nearly 700 military installations in the US and around the world.
A story from The Hill on October 31st of last year pointed out the Trump campaign wanted a billion dollars from the oil and gas lobbies. Here are those lobbies' payoff. And the grid will be taxed even more now that those solar panels are gone.

Meanwhile, Project Blue, if okayed, will use huge amounts of electricity in addition to DM.
