Arizona native and UA freshman pitcher Smith Bailey earned All-America first-team honors on Tuesday.
Bailey was named to D1Baseball’s Freshman All-America First Team, the news site announced.
The selected players were chosen based on “performance, taking into consideration statistical production, league context, defensive value and postseason impact,†according to D1Baseball’s website.
The D1Baseball honor is Bailey’s third All-American honor this season, preceded by making Baseball America and Perfect Game’s All-American second-teams.
Bailey also made the Big 12’s All-Freshman Team this season.
During the regular season, he recorded a 3.94 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and limited opposing hitters to a .267 batting average. He also logged 80 strikeouts.
