Arizona football and men’s and women’s basketball will be required to file public injury reports ahead of games as part of a new policy announced by the Big 12 Wednesday.
The Big 12 is the last Power 4 conference to require teams to provide public injury reports, joining the SEC, Big Ten and ACC. The Big Ten was the first conference to implement injury reports in 2023. The SEC added injury reports last year, followed by the ACC last month.
According to a news release, the Big 12’s “policy will include updates in the days leading up to each game, as well as a final report 90 minutes prior to kickoff or tip-off.”
Football programs conference wide are required to submit daily reports three days before kickoff, and basketball programs will update their reports the night before each game.
Football players will be listed as either available, probable, questionable, doubtful or out. Basketball players will have an available, game-time decision or out label in the injury report.
