The Tucson Saguaros came back twice to force a winner-take-all Game 3 in the Pecos League Championship Series set for Monday night.
The Saguaros (48-10-1) overcame a four-run deficit and then a late seven-run inning to beat the San Rafael Pacifics 16-13 in the second game of the championship series Sunday.

Tucson hosts the Pacifics on Monday at 7 p.m. at Kino Stadium with the league title at stake.
On Saturday in Game 1, San Rafael snapped Tucson’s 18-game win streak, beating the home side 12-9.
San Rafael, which is in the Bay Area, jumped ahead 5-0 in the first. Tucson struck back in the home half of the first, scoring three as outfielder Anthony Manisero and catcher Brian Ledezma notched RBIs.
The Pacifics scored three in the top of third and Tucson couldn’t get to closer than three runs, though catcher Hal Perez batted with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the ninth before grounding out.

The championship series is a rematch of the 2023 title series in which the Pacifics edged Tucson 2-1. In Game 1, San Rafael won, 5-3, the Saguaros took Game 2 4-0 and the Pacifics took decisive game 2-0.
The Saguaros won the Pecos League in 2016, 2020 and 2021.
In Game 2 of this year’s series on Sunday, San Rafael struck first, going ahead 4-0 in the second inning. However, Tucson responded in the bottom of the inning when catcher Cedric Reynaud drove hit an RBI single, Ledezma scored on a balk and outfielder Marquise Wood drove in Tucson’s third run.
In the third, both teams scored two runs, with the Saguaros’ coming after infielder Gavy Perez-Torres led off the third with a triple and outfielder Mike Whalen drove him in.
In the fourth, Tucson tied it up and then in the fifth, the Saguaros took the lead when a couple runs scored on a throwing error. Tucson added runs on a double by infielder Jacob Elizondo.
In the sixth, the Saguaros added a 12th run when outfielder Wood hit a lead off double and he scored off a double by Elizondo.
However, in the seventh the Pacifics dropped seven runs to retake the lead and Tucson went scoreless in its at bat for the first time since the first inning.
In the eighth, the Pacifics stranded a couple of runners in scoring position and then in the home half of the eighth, Tucson tied it up when Perez, as a pinch hitter, got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
Then the Saguaros took the lead on a bases loaded balk and Ledezma drove in a pair of runs.
