A 24-year-old woman was killed Thursday when she was thrown from the vehicle she was riding after the driver ran a red light and crashed, Tucson police say.
Natalie Michelle Gutierrez was riding in the front seat of a 1996 Ford Bronco about 12:45 p.m. when the unidentified 22-year-old driver ran the red light on South Campbell Avenue at East Drexel Road, police said in a news release.
The Ford collided with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra traveling east on East Drexel Road.
The impact caused the Ford to roll, ejecting Gutierrez, police said. She was declared dead at the crash scene.
No one else was injured in the crash.
Investigators said the driver the Ford was not impaired at the time of the wreck. They also determined Gutierrez was not wearing a seat belt, the release said.
